The Eco Council encouraged the whole school to think about saving energy by taking part in Switch Off Fortnight, which ended on December 1st. At the beginning of the fortnight, each class eco representative took part in an audit of lights and appliances left on around the school, when classes were not in their rooms. The eco team found lots of lights, sound systems and laptops left on. The team then fed back to their classes and explained why it is important not to waste energy, and how everyone could help. The audit was repeated by the team at the end of the fortnight, with really pleasing results. Most classes had remembered to turn off things which were not in use, and have been trying hard to switch off at home too. We hope everyone keeps up the good work, and remembers the important message Switch Off Fortnight taught us.
