Governors

Our school has a governing body which is responsible for ensuring the school provides the best education and educational opportunities for all pupils.

The governing body is made up of representatives from the local community, the Church (foundation governors) and parents.  All governors are volunteers.  The parent governors are elected by parents of children in school and hold office for four years.

The governing body is directly responsible for:

Developing, with the Head teacher, a vision and strategic direction for the school and ensuring that this is implemented through policies and plans.

Holding the school to account to ensure high educational performance is achieved.

The governors hold the school to account by: ensuring the school complies with all legal requirements; carrying out the performance management of the Head teacher; monitoring progress to ensure that every pupil in the school gets the best possible education; holding the school to account for efficient use of financial resources, delivering good value for money, ensuring good financial systems, protocols and practice.

Beth Stacey - Why I became a governor -

I became a school governor in 2014. I was very keen to be involved in the school, and hoped that I may contribute to its long term development as an excellent school. I have worked in the NHS within business and marketing for 15 years, managing a team of 10 across East Anglia and London. I have to manage budgets, staff, and recruitment, so I felt I had some very relevant experience to offer the school with short and long term planning, and strategic management.
Since being governor I have thoroughly enjoyed this role, and was invited to be part of the recruitment team due to my vast experience of this for our Head in 2015. It is a wonderful opportunity.
