Rougham C of E Primary School Inspire to achieve
Log in

Rougham Primary School PTA is very much a part of the school.

Our great logo was designed by some of the children and the words ‘lend a hand’ really sum up what we would love everyone to do!

We have the following aims:

Raise money for school projects that will benefit our children

Encourage as many parents as possible to have an active part in their child’s school in a practical way

Provide a means whereby families can meet and socialise in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere

Build relationships and friendships within our school community

Encourage involvement with the PTA that is both enjoyable and rewarding

Everyone can be a member:

Every parent, carer, member of staff is automatically a member of the PTA and we want everyone to feel as if they are a part of it.

We love to have Parent representatives in each class

There is no prerequisite skill set required, the more diverse in terms of skills and personalities the better.

Why we raise money:

The staff at Rougham are never short of a wish list of things that they would like, to enhance the children’s learning and school environment and we are always very pleased to be able to grant their requests.  As well as providing some fantastic gymnastics equipment and a large range of music instruments for class music lessons we are currently looking to help fund a sound system for the new hall and some more outdoor seating for our grounds.

Getting involved:

We call on the strengths of so many different people in our activities, some up front and some in the background, dependent upon what people are willing to do.  We would love you to support our future fundraising and community projects in the future.  Please contact the PTA via the school email address.

PTA Summer Term Events

Our next big event is our quiz on Friday 11th May 7pm in the school hall. It’s a great excuse to leave the kids at home, get a team of maximum 6 people, and have a fun night out where there is food, drinks, raffle and games, all to raise money for new staging for the school. Tickets will be sold in the playground from Monday 30th April, and are £8pp which includes a light meal. You are welcome to bring your own drinks, although soft drinks and cakes will be on sale. Hope to see you there to claim the title of “master brain!! “

We are holding our first pop-up café on Thursday 17th May 2.30-3pm in the school hall. Please pop in and join us for a free tea/coffee/squash before collecting your children. We hope to see you there!

On 26th April from 2.30pm in the library we will be holding a second hand uniform sale. All uniform has been washed and will be available to buy at £1/item. There are jumpers, dresses, shorts, fleeces etc.. so why not grab a bargain.

Unfortunately due to lack of interest and there not being enough recipes, we have had to shelve our cook book plans for now. Apologies to those who did email in recipes, and huge thanks for doing so.

We will be running the house cake stalls again this year as they proved so popular last year and brought out everyone's competitive spirit!

The dates are as follows:

March 5th – Ennis

April 23rd– Hawking

May 21st – Dahl

June 11th – Sheeran

We would love everyone to buy the cakes, as all money raised goes towards the school, but you only need donate cakes on your child's house date.

SATURDAY JULY 7th 11-3pm is the date of this years School fete. Last year we held a very popular teddy tombola, so if anyone has any teddies/cuddly toys their children no longer want, we would love to take them off your hands! Please see Becky or Amanda with donations.

Another date for your diaries is 7th June for Bags2school. This is a great way for the school to raise funds, and for you to have a clear out. The last collection made £216 which was used to buy books for each classroom. A reminder will be sent out in book bags nearer the date, but any bags can be filled, not just the ones sent home in book bags, so why not ask family members to contribute too.

An easy way to raise funds for the school is to place any used branded ink cartridges or toners in the large cardboard box in reception for recycling. Why not get your workplace involved and collect their used cartridges. For more info see our PTA noticeboard by school entrance.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supports our fundraising events, which we hope are fun for both children and adults alike. Last year we helped pay for new books and stools, and towards the new car park, and now hope to help pay for climbing apparatus which all children will have access to in the school field.

As always, feedback is appreciated so we ensure we host the right events for everyone.
