PTA

Rougham Primary School PTA is very much a part of the school.

Our great logo was designed by some of the children and the words ‘lend a hand’ really sum up what we would love everyone to do!

We have the following aims:

Raise money for school projects that will benefit our children

Encourage as many parents as possible to have an active part in their child’s school in a practical way

Provide a means whereby families can meet and socialise in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere

Build relationships and friendships within our school community

Encourage involvement with the PTA that is both enjoyable and rewarding

Everyone can be a member:

Every parent, carer, member of staff is automatically a member of the PTA and we want everyone to feel as if they are a part of it.

We love to have Parent representatives in each class

There is no prerequisite skill set required, the more diverse in terms of skills and personalities the better.

Why we raise money:

The staff at Rougham are never short of a wish list of things that they would like, to enhance the children’s learning and school environment and we are always very pleased to be able to grant their requests.  As well as providing some fantastic gymnastics equipment and a large range of music instruments for class music lessons we are currently looking to help fund a sound system for the new hall and some more outdoor seating for our grounds.

Getting involved:

We call on the strengths of so many different people in our activities, some up front and some in the background, dependent upon what people are willing to do.  We would love you to support our future fundraising and community projects in the future.  Please contact the PTA via the school email address.

PTA Autumn Term

A big thank you to all who donated to Bags2school and helped raise £164.00 towards new school laptops.

Thank you for all the Christmas card orders. They will be delivered to you via the book bags as soon as we get them back from the printers.

Dust the party shoes off as we have a school disco on December 7th in the school hall. It will be split into KS1 4-5pm (parents need to stay), and KS2 5.15-6.30pm (parents don't need to stay). Tickets will be £2.50 per child and will be on sale in the playground from Monday 3rd December. There will be party games with prizes to be won, drinks, food, cakes, sweets and glow rings/sticks etc. for sale on the night. We hope you can make it!

Back by popular demand will be the handmade Christmas wreaths, which will be on sale this year 4th & 5th December in the playground 3pm! Styles and prices will vary but there is sure to be one you would love on your front door! You can buy on the day or to ensure you get a wreath, please see/contact a member of the PTA team to place an order.

On December 14th the children are invited to come to school in non-uniform in exchange for bringing in a jar filled with crafts, small toys, stickers etc. The jars will then be on sale for £1 at 3pm in the playground. It’s a fun way to raise money for new laptops.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and you will soon be sent home via book bags, raffle tickets for our Christmas raffle where you could win a fantastic Christmas Hamper full of wonderful festive goodies! The draw will take place in school on 14th December so please return any raffle tickets and money to the marked ‘raffle’ box on the lost property cupboard in reception by Tuesday 13th December. To help make some fantastic hampers, if anyone has any Christmassy items to donate for this, be it napkins, candles, foods, games etc. there will be a box in reception for any items until Wednesday 12th December. This is a great way to help raise vital funds for the school, with the added chance of winning a fantastic prize, so many thanks in advance for all your support.

We look forward to seeing you at the Christmas productions in the church where the PTA will be serving tea/coffee and mince pies.

An easy way to raise funds for the school is to place any used branded ink cartridges or toners in the large cardboard box in reception for recycling. Why not get your workplace involved and collect their used cartridges. For more info see our PTA noticeboard by school entrance.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supports our fundraising events, which we hope are fun for both children and adults alike.

As always, feedback is appreciated so we ensure we host the right events for everyone.
